
What are the qualifications of LifeLine Counselors?
All LifeLine counselors are faith-based, licensed professional therapists with a masters or doctoral degree. All have at least fifteen years experience counseling individuals, children, couples and families. Staff counselors serve the program on a full-time basis.
Will everything I say be confidential?
The identity of clients and the material they share is held is strictest confidence. The only exceptions are those required by law. Examples of such exceptions are where the counselor believes there is a threat of harm to self of others or in situations involving abuse of a child of dependent adult.
What are the fees or charges for counseling services?
Clients typically pay a copay or fee for counseling services. Our office will file insurance and actual out-of-pocket expense varies depending on your insurance coverage. A copay or deductible payment may be required which varies according to each individual plan. LifeLine counselors are in-network for most insurance companies. When the counselor is in network for your insurance company, fees are typically discounted as part of the contractual agreement with the insurance payer.
Our office staff will be glad to call your insurance company to determine your insurance benefits including your estimated copay and deductible. For your convenience, we accept payment by debit or credit Mastercard or Visa. We also accept health savings or flex spending account cards.
What insurance companies cover LifeLine Counseling Center as an in-network provider?

If your insurance company is not listed, call our office at (865) 981-7400 to determine if we are in-network. Some companies are subsidiaries of parent companies or managed by the companies listed above and we would be considered in the network. We are also in the process of joining new networks. We are typically still covered by insurance companies even if we are not in their network.
How long do counseling sessions usually last?
Counseling sessions typically last 50-60 minutes.
What can I expect in the first session?
The first session usually begins with discussion of any questions you may have about LifeLine Counseling Center or the therapy process. Your counselor will always be sensitive to your personal needs and level of comfort dealing with emotional issues. He or she may spend time seeking a clear understanding of what you want to work on in therapy. In order to address factors that may impact your therapy goals, the counseling session may involve discussison about personal history and life experiences related to the areas of concern. The counselor typically ends the first session by identifying some specific goals for future sessions and discussing work you can do between sessions.
How many counseling sessions will I need?
This depends on your particular situation. The number of sessions necessary to address the presenting issue is situation specific and varies according to severity and duration. For many, 6 to 12 sessions are sufficient. For those presenting concerns with a long or comlex history, more sessions may be necessary to find workable solutions.
